Ok this story here is more like a prologue to the actual story, but I hope you enjoy this.
A Lovers Curse
Man and monster were never meant to mix. The lover of man and monster was outlawed, by government and even gods. Any man or woman who was to do it would be sentenced to death as the law made out. However even if you could hide from the law the gods would curse you for doing so. No man or woman was allowed, however no amount of threats stopped these two lovers, as foolish as it was.
A young man, dressed in working clothes made of cloth, some parts of his jacket where patched up with sewed on cloth while his boots made of dry leather, they were wore and old. His shirt was grey with mud staining small parts of it. The bottom, of the legs of, his pants were heavily stained in mud as well. His eye’s were a piercing sapphire blue and his hair was jet black and cut short. A knife laid on his hip attached to his belt and in one hand he held a white rose.
The young man ran through a dense forest, the midday sun making small patterns on the ground as it shined through the leaves, a bright smile rested on his face as he ran. It was quiet the only thing that was audible was the young man’s feet crushing the leaves that laid on the ground, as well as his voice that called for someone.
“Miss Halig?” The young man called out as he man his way through the forest. The young man soon came to a large opening within the forest, where nothing but a large rock stood. He entered the area and looked around. He scratched the back of his head as he saw nothing. He could of sworn this was where he last saw her. “Miss Halig?” He called out again, he waited for a bit before turning around, looking in the direction from where he came. He sighed as no sign of life seemed to exist around him.
“Frederick?” A soft voice asked from behind him. The young man then turned around to see a tall woman, with snow white hair and golden eye’s. She was dressed in a deep red dress that looked as if it cost a good amount of money, yet she was barefoot. Her pale skin almost made her look sickly but she showed no sign of illness. However by far the most bizarre thing about the woman was her two bone like horns that curled in a coil around her temples, like a ram.
“Miss Halig.” Frederick said with a hint of delight in her voice, he smiled happily as he handed her the white rose. “For you.” He said happily. The woman carefully took the rose and looked down at it she smiled as she ran her finger over a petal.
“It’s lovely.” She said in her soft voice. Looking back at the young man she smiled at him, then took his hand and pulled him closer. Frederick laughed taking hold of her other hand, this a warm smile he hugged her. Frederick wasn’t much taller than Miss Halig but he was still a tall man. Miss Halig just laughed in delight.

The heavy footsteps of armoured knights, made their way through the dense forest. It was a group of about eleven knights. Four knights held crossbows, while three others held maces, two more held broadswords, another held a battle axe and the final knight dressed in silver and gold wielding a sword and shield lead the group.
These knights were out in the forest for a reason. Back at the kingdom someone had told them a young man by the name of Frederick had committed a crime. He was having a relationship with a monster. So they were here to end that.
The leading knight held up his hand, ordering them to stop, and the other knights stopped with extreme efficiency. The leading knight looked around and heard the light sound of laughter. Coming from further in the forest. He nodded and pointed forward, and then the group continued further into the forest.

By this time the man and woman were on the ground lying next to each other looking into the sky. Frederick was explaining to Miss Halig about his day and how keeping their secret was getting hard and harder. Miss Halig only frowned as she heard this.
“Frederick my dear, why do you not come and live with me?” Miss Halig asked turning onto her side so she could face him. “If you do we won’t have to live in fear.” She said. Frederick gave out a sigh.
“Miss Halig you know I would, it’s just I have to take care of my younger sister.” He said, sitting himself up. “I just don’t want to rip her from her life, she is nearly of age to wed, and once she has, I will but until then I need to look after her so she can be safe.” Frederick explained, he opened his mouth to speak again but another voice can through.
“You want to keep her safe yet you sleep with a monster!” A deep voice came. Frederick looked over to see the leading knight standing there. His eye’s widened as he scrambled to his feet. He quickly looked back at Miss Halig but she was already on her feet. “Surprised? Well you shouldn’t be, you know the charge for this crime, so come over here so I can make it swift.” The leading knight said.
“Don’t hurt her.” Frederick said, obviously scared, as he tried to beg for them not to hurt his lover. However he only got laughter from the group of knights.
“Kill them.” The leading knight ordered. The four knights raised their crossbows and fired as one. The four bolts flew through the air, but suddenly came to a halt. Frederick and the group of knights just stared at the bolts as they floated in thin air.
Miss Halig on the other hand, had her right arm out with her hand out stretched and her eye’s fully gold. Her hair was even floating in the air slightly. She then waved her hand to the left and the bolts flew into the trunks of trees.
The knights quickly scrambled to reload. Then the lead knight order an attack from the others. And so they charged in. they ran in a V shape, the Axeman leading the charge, the macemen behind him and the two swordsmen at the back.
Miss Halig flicked her wrist and suddenly roots from the ground sprouted and grabbed hold of the axeman’s leg, causing him to trip, then roots wrapped around his wrists, legs, shoulders and neck. Forcing him to the ground. Next two mace men charged in. Miss Halig then casted another spell with her free hand, which caused a small explosion of energy between the two knights, which caused them to be knocked back. They both hit the ground with a heavy thud.
Frederick hid behind Miss Halig, utterly terrified of what was happening. His hands were shaking and sweat ran down his forehead. He pulled out his knife but barely kept hold of it, due to his shaking hands. It was at this point the final maceman broke off from the formation, and ran left.
The two swordsmen charged in towards Miss Halig, both swords raised. However as they got close she pushed both her hands forward causing the ground to rise up like a wave and swallow both knights. Then bolts were fired, towards her, she caught three and diverted them into the maceman that ran left, killing him. However she heard another bolt hit something a fourth bolt. She then heard a stagger, Miss Halig turned around to see Frederick holding a bolt that had entered his chest. Miss Halig’s eye’s turned back to normal and her hair dropped. She quickly caught Frederick before he hit the ground. Frederick looked at her and smiled he then closed his eye’s as his body went limp.
Laughter could then be heard from behind her. Miss Halig then placed the body of her dead lover down on the ground. She stood up and turned around with tears rolling down her cheeks. She looked up at the knights with anger burning in her eyes.
Her eye’s then became fully black. Her skin started to crack and fall off. A black scale like skin replaced her beautiful pale skin, her horns grew and her fingers became claws. The forest then grew darker. Miss Halig then lifted off the ground a black cloud flooded the forest behind her. No tree could be seen. Then through the darkness two huge snake like eye’s could be seen.
Then terrified screams of the knights could be heard, until they faded into nothing…
