The halls are blank white, no pictures on them; the frames could be dangerous. The tile floor is grey and maroon, which adds a bit of color, but to the residents these halls are desolate nonetheless.

A nurse hurries by, intent on her job, two syringes sticking out of her pocket that held sedatives, a taser in the other. Echoing down the halls, another patient’s yells and snarls ring through the halls. This ward is the one where all the patients with no sense of reason left live.

In another area, people drift from place to place, peering out windows made of plastic with metal bars behind them blocking the view. Through it, they can see green trees and sky. There is some padded chairs around, and even a board game, and for a moment one might think these patients were even trusted; but then the hawk-eyed glares of the staff and guards by the door put another perspective.

These are the hated ones. The others can be controlled, with drugs and manipulation; but not these patients. These are the ones who know how to hide it, who understand what it is to die and still possess their own form of logic. They are long past caring if the outside world sees them with fear, they just want to survive this madhouse. Most of them have hands stained with blood, or are protected by someone whose hands are stained. They fight amongst themselves, for resources or survival. Those new to the routine find out how things work very quickly, or they die.

The last glimpse new patients see of the outside world beyond the fence, is the entrance; the white coated doctor that manages the asylum leading the way inside high chain faces that buzz with electricity, a guard closing the gate after them. “Welcome to End Asylum.”

The air felt unusually cold on Ethan's face. Perhaps it was the mixed feeling of abandonment and the icy raindrops hitting his face what made the air so crisp. It did not matter to him, he knew that this little bit of cold was the last he would ever feel of the beautiful outside. He knew he would long for this feeling for years to come. He knew that this cold was a momentary blessing. He would savor this moment, pulling against the straining force of the warden's hands. Alas, Ethan's physical power was far from sufficient to fight the wardens.

Pushed forward, Ethan came under the shelter of a roof he knew he would curse for existing. The rain no longer hit his hair, nor did the wind blow on his face. He now felt the warmth of a heated building hit his face. Not that such heating would be everywhere. Such a privilege would only be for the warden's denizen. This feeling too he should savor.

Finally, Ethan opened his eyes to scan his new surroundings. A haunting asylum, presumably built in the 50's, was what he saw. The wardens had signed him in already. Now, Ethan saw the red haired adolescent boy in front of him. His warm smile was met with Ethan's dead stare. He didn't ant to show fear, but it was hard to keep himself from trembling in his drenched clothes. It was obvious to Ethan that Arvind's stare was a fake one. Not that it was visually obvious. As a matter of fact, it was very convincing. But seen to the situation Ethan found himself in, mixed with the reputation of this particular asylum, Ethan knew not to think to highly of this man.

All papers seemed to be getting signed for Ethan. He half expected needing to put his signature somewhere. However, if there was even the slightest bit of control in healthcare here, then this building would have already been destroyed long ago. Bureaucracy didn't care about the End. No one did.

Ethan, now observing the girl next to him from the corner of his eye. He pulled up his right leg momentarily as he regained eye contact with Arvind. The girl didn't seem to be able to hit Ethan, but it didn't hurt to prematurely dodge the girl's nails. He felt sorry for the girl. Walking on her toes and practically being abused upon entry. He considered helping her up but knew that would show his weakness. Being nice would not help Ethan in his new abode where sociopaths, people known for their skills at manipulating others, roamed the building.

Ethan's right leg made contact with the ground once more. Now, he decided to finally answer Arvind. "Ethan." He said, not answering Arvind's inquiry on what he did. Now it was time for him to go to his room. That was if the nurse would actually show up.

Arvind tipped his head at 'Ethan', considering. He looked strong, true, but if he showed such suspicion of others openly to one of the Hunters, he might get himself in trouble with someone who didn't like it. The shorter girl of the group gave him a broad smile, but it had an air of fakeness around it; just like the doctors and those here who did not truly feel. Uninteresting. Arvind turned away as the doors opened, the nurses arriving to escort the new ones to their rooms.

Arvind tagged along behind at a distance as they made their way through the halls, around numerous corners and rooms until they made thier way to the second floor mid-security wing; they would be watched carefully, and playing nice would earn them a pass to the lower floors where there was a bit less supervision, the supposed 'lower risk' patients. If there was one advantage to being known for violence, it was that they watched you more; it was stifling to be watched constantly, but on the other hand, it made it harder for them to attack you. Arvind preferred the freedom, being able to go outside into the yard, even if it was with a nurse.

The halls were painted a cream rather than pure white, and at rare places you could see the paint chipping to reveal the faded but pretty vintage flower-print wallpaper that had been the mansion's original look - but it was made something dark to see that paper when you knew those rare marks and chips had been made with desperate nails of a patient trying to be kept from being dragged away, objects thrown with intent to harm, and the rasp of a knife being drawn along the wall as a Hunter passed by. Every mark had a story, as did every replaced carpet - the floor was practically a patchwork of large squares. At least that made the decor less boring.

"Here are your rooms," He could hear the nurse saying as he peeked around the corner. Both new patients had been stuck in neighboring rooms right next to the security station, the nurses explaining the schedules of waking, medications and breakfast, counciling, and the daily activity as each unlocked the respective rooms - one that had been vacant for a while, the other that had been the room of that newby that got pushed out his window last week - and led their patient inside. Just before he walked in, Arvind took a small step out from around the corner, locking eyes with first one then the other as the two looked up at the movement.

"I know where you lliiiiiiive." Arvind whispered teasingly, and them whirled around and ran away giggling.
