As per request I am explaining how magic works. I will be adding and getting rid of things as time progresses. Feel free to ask questions
Q: What is a soul and what does it do?
A: Souls are what produces mana and what stores mana, and they are in fact made of mana. Anything with a soul is 'technically' alive. But that can get... Questionable. Souls are your spirit, it is you, If your soul destroyed you are too, there is no longer any afterlife or chance of coming back no mater how strong of a curse or spell is used.
Q: What happens to the soul when you die?
A: Well a lot can. If your soul is fine and dandy, you have not made any big sins, and you are not alleged to any gods, then you'll just go to the underworld to live out a normal and peaceful afterlife for the rest of forever. But if you have does some major sins, you'll be sufferin' for quite a while in the underworld. And if you are alleged to a god, they may just ask for your soul to make you an angel of them.
Q: What are auras?
A: Good question, auras are a passive layer of mana around everyone's body. What is does is a bit more important. When you do a spell you have to use mana, but you can't use mana right out of your soul. So that's why auras are there, they move the mana through out your body
Q: Why is this so complex? Can't you just say "Because it's magic, shut up"
A: Because it's magic, shut up.
Q: Why can't I capture souls easily
A: Because they are mana, it's not easy to capture mana that is not yours. Not to mention that when someone dies, typically Death or his demons are all over that to drag it down to the underworld
Q: What can hold mana and how can it be used practically
A: Very good question. And hard to answer. Gems would be the most obvious thing, gems can hold mana which if you fill before a mission and then use it you could in theory make your self have a bigger mana pool. Now you get into the more... Complex stuff. There are enchantments which technically hold mana but you can't really get it out. It's practical use it obvious, it makes what ever was enchanted have some kind of special property based on what kind of enchantment it was. Now to get even MORE complex, there are also self contained spells which are technically mana but... Well they are spells in a canister that can be activated and thrown like a grenade, that way you can pretty much have spells to go that anyone can use. The issue is it's expensive and hard to do, not to mention quite dangerous given you are using active intent filled spells instead of just calm mana.
Q: What do I do if i want to ask you are question about magic?
A: Well, ether ask in bellow or PM me the question. Ether way it will be answered here
