The sounds of thousands of people from all different background and occupations slowly died down to a silence as the convention was about to start...
1) Basic Magnetic Application Research:
A man walked up to the mic. It was a merm with dark purple scales, he was wearing a white blazer and baggy khaki pants with some - clearly leans-less - glasses over his eyes "Hello men and women of science! I am Dr. Quart and I am here to ask you all a favor... Please fund my research into the practical application of magnetism! I know there are many ways it can be used and we just have to find out, it will take a lot of time and money but it will be worth it! I promise! Thank you..." After his long-winded begging he walked off the stage
2) Crystalline Research
A skinny girl with long black hair drooping down covering one eyes walked up, as she reached the mic she for the first time really realized just how many people there are here "H-Hey..." She said into the mic, take a deep breath, her voice could be heard shaking as she breathed out into the mic "U-Uhm! I uhh..." she looked around, like she forgot her speech. That being because she did "I u-uhh!... Erm... L-Like crystal?..." She was starting to freak out "A-And I!" She was getting flustered "T-Think they are not used as much as they can be!? And uhh... W-We need to look into that!? U-Uhh!!" She then ran off the stage, her hands covering her face
3) Electronic Research
A full werewolf walked onto the stage. He was wearing only a lab coat, his fur covering the rest of him. He walked on all fours to the tiny mic and cleared his throat, whispering into it so that his loud beastly voice wouldn't peak the mic "I am James. And despite my looks, I am a man of science. I won't rattle off a ton of degrees trying to sound like I know what I am talking about. All I can do is promise that I do know what I am doing. We need to further our electronics. Take it from me, everything in the technological world is still too big. We need to make everything smaller and more effective, and if you fund me, I promise I can make that happen" He walked off
4) Artificial Magi Research
A women walked up. She had red hair tied up in a bun "Hi. I am Dr. Marry. If you call me Bloody Marry from my hair color I will end you. Now look, I know you asshole men don't want a female doing science but if you do not fund my artificial magi research you are a racist, homophobic, misogynistic, sexist cis white male pig and I you fall on a rusty box cutter and have your neck slipt open yet still live long enough to feel all the pain as you choke on your own blood" She walked off.
5) Magi Research
A tall old-looking man walked up "... I am Harold" From the lighting of the spotlight it was hard to tell but he had a smile that looked quite forced "Lead researcher in Magic. And to keep doing that I need money. Now you--" He stopped for a second, taking a deep breath "Very kind and intelligent people" he sounded like he was forcing the words out through clenched teeth "Seem like the kind of people who would know that magic is the most important thing to fund. So do so" He walked off, his hands balled in fists
6) Theromite No one came
7) Basic Robotics Research
An Avian Nekoid-halfling walked up into the stage, it's oddly furry yet feathery wings folded behind her "Hi. I am Dr. Dela, PhD in mechanical engineering and I think we do not have what we need to keep moving forward. People have to struggle day by day doing manual labor that a monkey could do, but why? Why should us Viros have to do that? No. I think we need to further our robotics, not only would if it gets advanced enough get rid of all need for people to deal with menial jobs but it would so be very beneficial to the militaries of the world. So fund me and I will take us to a greater level" She bowed and walked off
8) Medical Research
A massive hulking man walked up. It was a Nokusiza Giant, it looked down upon the crowd and pick up the pick stand as it couldn't adjust to his size anyway. He spoke as such "Ahem... What are we doing? People are dying out there from things we can't fix. Organ failures, cancer, STI. So many things that we are watching happen while we sit around twiddling our thumbs. Nah... I ain't willin' to watch that any more. Fund me. Fund me so I can go off and fix all that, or at least try my best to. I won't lie, it's an uphill fight I will be pushing but I think I have the determination to do it." He gently set the mic back down and shuffled way, trying to make his foot steps make as little sound as possible
