The Red Gate. A construction that not even a god would dare attack. It's walls spanning 300 meters into the air, and it's length reaching each end of the mountain's valley. The walls stood, old, beaten and bloodied, yet buzzing with life. Archer's moved up the great staircases inside the wall, like ants travelling through their tunnels. The march of the infantries feet where only out matched by the cracking hooves of the thunder's horses. 

The skies where black with storm clouds, blocking out the stars, the eyes of gods even. With crackle of thunders men and women loaded their war machines, as archer's made thunder of their own, pulling out arrows of their quiver. Red Ranger's marched through the inside of the walls, torches in their hands lighting the way up and down the staircases. They marched towards the lower ledges of the wall, while some marched for the ground gate.

Upon the horizon, like a sea of black, dark forces began their march towards the Red Gate, while the feet of the gate was flooded with the silver armour of the Iron knights and low infantry. In front of them stood the thunder, while war machines littered the gate like hawks on a branch watching over their next meat. The rumble of monsters could be heard as the dark forces approached. The Red Gate would fall today, Red Ranger's would become white, drained of colour. Red Feather's would be plucked from the head of the gate. Thunder would dissipate. Iron would melt. The dark will spread into the city. However Parkesh would be dammed to watch it all.

Parkesh would find himself quick on his feet and torch in hand. A line of Red Ranger would follow him down the stairs of the gate, towards the foot of the wall where they would die. Death wasn't anything to a Ranger, if anything it was a sign of power, to die in battle against a great foe instead of coward and be slaughtered like the archers, or run like the thunder, or lay down their blade like the Iron Knights. No Ranger's where the deadliest foe the gate had to offer, if they where to die, it would be with honour.

Reaching the ground, Parkesh would be pushed in formation, behind the infantry and Iron knights. The brutal churn of war machine gears would scratch themselves into the ears of everyone. The heavy clunk of weights gave the single everything was in place. Silence then reigned king. As if a wraith had came over them, stealing the voice of every mortal, even the voice of the wind. Minuets of anticipation passed as everything seemed dead. Then, the dark forces came.

The shout of men called out over the crowds as heavy war machines fired balls of fire over their head into the dark hordes approaching them. The crash of heavy armour and quick footsteps could be heard as they came into view. Large creature, each over two meters tall, some dressed in armour, and some just shadowy humanoids with bright glowing yellow eyes charged in. The shadowy creatures ran in as screaming nightmares, their arms lashing out to impossible lengths and cutting through the infantry like a heated knife through butter. Thunder charged in, only to stopped in their tracks by huge dark knights in nightmarish armour. Horse had their necks snapped in one hit and riders became ripped in two within moments. Iron Knights charged in, standing up to these nightmarish creatures, slamming them into the ground and clashing with the dark knights. The call of arches could be heard as the skies became darkened mess of arrows flying into the dark forces. 

The Ranger would charge in, their agility and speed serving them well, allowing them to dodge the shadow creature's attacks, and allowing them to stab through the dark knights armour. But like the rest, the Ranger's would eventually be done with. Horrific creatures, bigger than any war machine, with tendrils for arms and one glowing red eye, came crashing in, grabbing rangers and ripping their limbs from their bodies. Parkesh would of been pushed into this madness, only to witness his comrades being slaughtered.

Balrok came into view. Parkesh could easily witness the giant crush the head of an Iron knight, with little to no effort. The fight was nothing but a slaughter for his men. He needed to fight with everything he had if he wanted to live.
