How to: My first enterprise
Capitalism has time and time again been proven the best economical system. But of course the draw back to this system is that you have to make it for yourself. Here are some tips, tricks and need-to-knows on getting started for yourself.
Starting up Sadly, you can't just buy your way into success if you don't have any money to begin with. In order to get there, there are a few options. For example, you can do some work for factions, or even join a faction for a steady salary. Of course, you can also work for a private hire, like a shop or a character.
Vendor If you want to make a career out of your profession, you're going to have to sell your stuff. It doesn't matter if you're a hunter, an alchemist or a smith. You can't make money out of just exercising your profession. You can visit local markets and sell your wares there, but in the long run that might not be the most effective way of doing it.
Land It's a brave new world. Settle it by getting a plot of land for yourself, at quite the price, and start setting up shop. Getting the money together for this kind of work isn't easy, but with the right connections and hard work you'll be able to make your own shop, house or even base for a faction. Here's a list of places you can settle down in, and how expensive it might be:
New York - Expensive, yes, but the best location you can get. You'll probably end up buying a building here as there isn't much un-occupied land. But hey, that just means you skip out on the whole construction part. With some renovations you can make this your very own little paradise.
Los angeles - It's where all the stars live. Maybe if you build a nice enough place here, you can be one too. You'll have to build from the ground up, but at least you have a viable option to put some gambling machines in this place.
Rio de Janeiro - One of the cheapest options you have. Get some land on the border of the walls to call your own. It might be a bit dangerous, but at least the police won't bother to knock on your door when you're up to no good. Just be sure you're on good terms with Xerna. You'll have to build it for yourself.
Mexico city - They're big fans of Ilchimaca here, so you won't be having any trouble when it comes to buying and selling the remnants of felled beasts. You'll get an okay place, maybe with a fence too, at a moderate price.
Berlin - Concrete seems to be everywhere in this culturally cold city. It's central location makes it perfect for traders though.
London - A beautiful place, truly, with many options for high-end victorian buildings to claim for yourself. Among the priciest places, but you'll live in style.
St. Petersburg - It's cold as shit and the sun never seems to go down for longer than a few hours. But that's okay, because at least the 'night' life here is amazing. Build yourself something from the ground up for a low price. Everyone else is to busy to care any ways.
Istanbul - Though at the edge of it's corners. the city has become somewhat of a centre for all of the middle east. Make sure you profit off that silk road by setting up shop here. Plenty of space left to build something of your own.
Damascus - An ancient city. If you feel like kicking it the old ways, this is your perfect resort. Beware, there seems to be another war here every month.
Beijing - A city that is so filled up it's amazing you could even find something, let alone buy it. You might have little space, but you definitely won't ever be feeling lonely here.
Kyoto - Ready to get your weeb on? Settle down in Japan's largest city, technology seems to be evolving to new levels every day but somehow wielding swords just never goes out of fashion.
Sydney - In a world where wildlife is the greatest threat, living in Australia definitely seems like a good idea. You're absolutely insane, but be my guest.
Sokol - If you don't like magic tricks or furries, this is the place for you! Because the SPR here has made sure that all those nasty people go to a... Friendly campsite.
Shops Having a shop is a great idea if you want to specialise into your profession. By having a shop, you can produce your stuff without a worry in the world, and will have plenty of space to stockpile those materials for it. With the right contracts, you can even start selling items in bulk, which earns you loads of money. But be sure to invest in security, because others might want to profit off your work as well. To perform better, you can upgrade your storage, your workshop, and your distribution.
House Want to have some place to relax that isn't a carton box under a bridge? Then getting a house for yourself is a good idea. You can rent one for a low price, though it's easier to just buy one and be done with all the constant payments. You can spend some extra money on aesthetics, a comfier place, as well as your private little armoury.
Base A base costs a lot to set up, and requires plenty of space. But once you have all that, organising a faction of your own becomes a piece of cake.
