The world of SRT is filled with factions you can join. But what is a faction? What is their purpose, and why should you join them? The answers to those questions are to be found here.

Faction; A definition
Factions are large groups of like-minded individuals. They have a clear structure, purpose and idea to which they adhere.

Joining
Why you should join a faction is quite simple. It gives you stability and a clear purpose for starters. It also forms an easy pay, and gets you a place to sleep and eat at.
But there are other reasons. Think for example about free equipment, facilities and training. Discounts on items from faction producers and having back up wherever you go.

Joining a faction can be very simple, or very hard, depending on the faction. For example, all it takes to join SRT is to have minimal training (which is given at school, likely before your character even starts in the universe) and you'll be allowed in. Others have more pressing requirements. A criminal faction might require you to prove yourself through some criminal act and a religious faction could require you to adhere to a certain god(dess). Some factions, like the spartans or Hextech, might even require you to be of a certain level and undergo intensive training.

Faction of your own
Don't like what you see? Just make your own faction. It's that easy.

Well, it's not THAT easy. Creating your own faction actually takes a lot of work. First, it requires at least 10 members, be they npc or pc. Secondly, you must have a base of operations. And thirdly, a different faction should recognise you as a faction. Only then can you earn yourself a spot in the codex as official faction.
