1296 AD, 13th of July - We were able to find some medical herbs. Batista was even able to find a jumping jack. This will allow us to stand a better chance. Now that we've somewhat prepared ourselves we shall proceed upon the fortress. We shall proceed according to plan. The gods have blessed us. Although we all were wounded, we've survived this monstrosity. Once we entered the fortress me and Zaccheria charged the living armour. Before we gave it the opportunity to stand up we both simultaneously hacked onto the neck of the armour. It threw the armour back and broke it into pieces, giving us the impression it had already been defeated. Batista and Pierandrea quickly took to the walls to look, but for the moment found nothing. Me and Zaccheria helped them look, but unbeknownst to us the armour began assembling itself once more. We only realised it was back on its feet when it swung its sword at me. Zaccheria could push me out of the way, but I was still wounded. We started our fight with the glowing armour than revealed itself to us. It was like a red light was possessing the armour, which only made it more intimidating. This light shined from the helmet and its few wounds, staring into our very souls as it approached us. We must have fought for an hour, exchanging blows and blocks, while our companions kept searching. Finally, they found the creature looming right over our very heads. We had never thought to look to the red glare towards the sun, but it turned out that in this glare it took to hiding in plain sight. Once spotted, Pierandrea and Batista took the fight to it, which prompted it to cast some sort of spell on the armour. It seemed to fire it up as it began an even more energetic assault on us. When I say it fired up, I mean this in the most literal of forms. It was as if it had been set alight from the inside out, spewing fire from every crevice of its body. It charged forth, leaving a trail of embers in its wake as it seemingly flew across the battlefield. We were taken aback and I swiftly found myself overpowered. Zaccheria, who had take the jumping jack potion, was able to match the things speed and saved my life a second time with his skills. I was able to back up the man who I can now call a dear friend with my own magic. Batista and Pierandrea were quite bussy on their own, launching arrow and spell one after another in am attempt to bring down the winged beast. But this proofed hard as the creature was not only thin, but it's very limbs were like twigs. Every time a arrow hit, it was like a feather fell from the creature. But somehow it did not react to the pain they inflicted. It simply hovered above. I can assume it was putting all its focus into controlling the armour and staying afloat. But such a task could not be easy. This proofed true when the creature suddenly floated downwards. The glow it emanated fading into obscurity as it depleted it's mana. Had it not been for our own longevity, it would surely have been able to slay us all. But with the fall of the crystal bird, our victory became decisive. The armour too fell once the Crystalline beast hit the ground, which gave us the opportunity to charge it and slay it. Even for how thin it was, this creature was enormous. A wingspan to easily transcend that of a Griffin centurion, which happened to be on our list of creatures to fell. After our intense battle, we retreated unto the castle. While Batista and Pierandrea began scavenging the fortress, I proceeded to carry out the bodies of the fallen into the main court. Most of these men were magicals, and some were beasts. They all fought bravely and deserved a fitting end. Zaccheria in the meanwhile had taken to examining the armour. It wasn't quite his size as it was a bit larger, but when Zaccheria tried his magic on it, the armour began to float around him. It gave us quite the scare until we realised that Zaccheria had been able to take control of the armour. According to him, the insides were lined with ruby and other crystals, which reacted only to fire magic. This explained the fiery display earlier as the Parocera must have been fire of element. When inside the harness, Zaccheria explained that he was floating within it, and that the armour would react to his own movements accordingly. It took some getting used to, but within moments he could move naturally inside it. As if this wasn't a surprise enough to us, when he exited it the armour remained standing. No doubt this new 'ally' shall prove itself monumentally useful in battles to come.
