A moment after entering the portal, Yukari and Joseph emerged on the other side, now in front of a small, run-down Shinto shrine. "Sure, magic of all forms is commonplace in Gensokyo. Anyway, here we are, the Hakurei Shrine." Yukari said as she opened up another small gap beside her and retrieved three items from it. "Now, there's been an... Issue lately. See, here in Gensokyo, 'incidents' of various descriptions tend to happen. Now, usually, we have people to take care of that, like the shrine maiden at this shrine. However, recently they have all gone missing. Since me and my shikigami are... Busy with other things, i needed someone else to find out what's going on. Now, here in Gensokyo it's best not to leave home without a weapon..." She held out three items in front of her, hovering in mid air: An orb with a yin-yang symbol painted on it, an octagonal block of wood with various inscriptions on the top, and a pouch of... Something, with a pocket watch on top of it. "Now, three of the main 'incident solvers' left their weapons behind. The orb is the main weapon of Reimu, this shrine's maiden. It can be used in various ways. The wooden block is the Mini-Hakkero, a magical catalyst used by Marisa, a magician living in the Forest of Magic. While usually used to enhance magical powers, i'm sure with all the power stored in it you could use some of it. Finally, we have Sakuya's knives. This pouch, although small, contains what is essentially a pocket dimension with more knives than there are leaves in a forest, all perfectly balanced for throwing. The watch comes with it, and although it might seem ordinary it contains powerful time-manipulation magic. Each also come with their owner's spell card of choice. Now that i mention it, i should probably explain spell cards. You see, every living being in Gensokyo is bound to a set of formal fighting rules known as the Spell Card Rules. Essentially, they put everyone on an equal power level so disputes can be resolved using non-lethal duels that involve both fistfighting and magic. Now then, take your time to think about your decision."
