The air is cold on the spring morning. Clouds had rolled over the mountain range, causing an ominous effect. No doubt these grey clouds would soon cause a downpoor. Most common folk were out collecting their laundry from their washing lines, or harvesting the last few pumpkins for the upcoming festivals. Earlier that same morning an incident had occurred in the mines of the village. The slaves had been hacking away at stone, and by some mysterious way died. Guards would be sent that same day, but right now word had yet to arrive in the village. The guards seemed to be quite absent in fact. Most of them had been recalled to the keep, so only a handful of the men remained.

A carriage carrying the corpses of the slaves that had died rode past Dexter and Devon. The two had shared a quite brief conversation of "g'day" when it passed them by. They would be able to spot the dead slaves in the carriage as it drove past. The two were a mere 5 minute walk removed from the actual village.

Vladimir and Bunny were in the same inn when they too heard the carriage ride past. They had not met one another, though, as they had only come for a bed to stay before leaving again. Vladimir would be able to smell the strong odor of blood on the carriage, testament to that their death had been a bloody and brutal one. The inn the two resided in was a traditional german one. Filled with beer and red nosed drunkards that had passed out the night before. Bunny had caused quite the commotion the day before, although it wasn't the bad kind.

The carriage arrived at the slaves barracks where Samuel could be found. The driver got off from the carriage to meet Samuel who had been called out to the carriage shortly before. The rider, a man in leather coat and obscuring hat held a shovel in his hands. As he approached Samuel, he swiftly shoved a shovel into his chest before giving him the command. "Dig five graves". Samuel, to his disgust, would be able to see some of the mutilated bodies in the back of the carriage. They had been cut deeply and often. This was obviously no death caused by normal punishment from the wardens.
