"I see. In that case..." Lucem said, dedicating a bit of thought to his choice of meal. "A steak with some of those ashjams? Oh, and your finest ale, as they say."

While he did have around 50 gold coins in reserve, he decided to take the innkeepers kindness to heart and wait with paying until he'd retrieved his bounty. "Thank you." He said and nodded before going to the seating areas.

He decided to sit down by an unoccupied tables, listening in to what some of the other inn-goers were talking about as he took his first bite of steak.

Lucem simply continued to listen in as he chewed. He himself - while he did believe in Lux - was not anything close to a fanatic nor did he have as much faith in the gods as he did himself, so seeing the fire elementals slowly losing themselves simply because a god was losing seemed like overreacting to him. Then again, they lived in a different world than him; how could peasants like them possibly understand his mindset? For a moment, he considered going over to some of the freelancers and chatting about the days deeds, but he realized that the atmosphere in the inn might make it difficult to just start a conversation like that.

Lucem simply listened in on what was going on. Joining either side would be troublesome in terms of dealing with the other, and he didn't want to bother with something like that. While he was confident that he'd excel in just about anything he would decide to do, and that he'd be able to deal with any foes he'd encounter, he wasn't the type to expressly make enemies for the sake of it.

Recoiling from the punch, he was about to shout all hell at whoever punched him, but noticed the group taking their distance. Swallowing the pain with a murmur sounding like "How dare he...", he joined the freelancers. "This is an odd thing to watch." Lucem said, trying to spark conversation.

"They are quite... impassionate." Lucem said as he rubbed his face carefully. "But what do you mean 'lately'?"

"It splits them up, I suppose. To be so fixated in your loyalty to a single being... plebeians." Lucem said, mumbling the last word under his breath. Despite his relatively harsh words, he understood why they were like this; choosing your alignment is difficult, especially when you've lived your entire life believing in one mindset and then suddenly being exposed to a new one that might be better.
