The sergeant looked back to Devon just as he was walking off. "Did I fucking ask you something soldier?!" He left a moment of silence for Devon to respond, only to shout once more just before he might. "You answer with yes sir or no sir! Got it soldier?!"

"Now, it's about time i see if those shitstains at schools did well enough to teach you what end of the gun you're supposed to hold... Right face! Fooooorward MARCH!" The soldiers all turned a 90 degrees to the right and started marching forward at a steady pace, off towards the firing range.

Lining up at the firing range, there was a selection of weapons. Firearms, bows, every type of ranged weapon's SRT standard issue. Some soldiers grabbed the standard G36C, some others took to UMP-45's, and others grabbed a Glock 18. There was even one who took hold of a recurve crossbow. Even though firearms wouldn't be Devon's thing, he would surely find the alternative of bow and arrow a welcome possibility.

With recurve bow and 12 arrows in his quiver, Devon lined up besides the other men, awaiting the sergeants order. All soldiers made sure to exercise proper etiquette. Aiming down the range only, as they should. The sergeant stood at the far end, watching as targets popped up. As many as there were men. About 50 metres away from them. "Ready! Aim!" He took a small moment for everyone to line up their sights. "Fire!"

The arrow hit true. Not on the bullseye, but on the third circle of the goal. Far from perfect, but at least it did not miss.

The other soldiers fired. Some in burst fire, some in single, and some in full automatic. As well as the one elf in the group, who was using a crossbow. He had a particularly accurate hit. The others were just as moderate in their aim as Devon.

"Well Jesus fucking christ! Where did you idiots learn to shoot?!" The sergeant shouted out, halting most soldiers. "Well? The fuck are you waiting for? Shoot better!" Once again, fire sounded.

Another hit. Third circle once more, but up top this time. With some practice he might actually get more accurate.

"That's enough. God help us when you assholes get out on the field..." The soldiers all put away their guns, unloading them first and making sure they would not misfire. At least their schools taught them that much. "On to the course! March!"

The group started marching again, towards the obstacle course where they would have to proof their agility and stamina.
